Multiplicity TO was an online publication showcasing emerging Toronto artists. Developed collaboratively as part of our Arts Administration and Cultural Management program, it featured interviews with artists from diverse backgrounds, exploring how cultural identity informs their artistic practices and philosophies.
My contributions included photographing the featured artists, designing the logo, and developing the publication’s visual identity system.
PHOTOGRAPHY
I photographed each artist in spaces meaningful to them, from studios and homes to familiar cafés and restaurants. I adapted the framing and composition to each environment, using available light to guide how subjects were positioned and oriented within the frame.

LOGO DESIGN
Beginning with a word map(4.1), we identified four key concepts to guide the visual identity: community, knot, identity, and pluralism. These ideas led me to envision a continuous, wave-like line(4.2), representing the fluidity of identity and the connections formed across diverse perspectives. This concept became the foundation for the logo(4.3).

IDENTITY SYSTEM
Drawing on my design studio experience, I developed the publication’s visual identity system, translating its values and themes into cohesive design decisions.
ONLINE PUBLICATION
Built on Wix, the publication embraced a loose, artistic flow through fluid layouts that moved beyond rigid grids and dimensions. Photographs, pull quotes, and points of interest were woven throughout the interviews, creating a dynamic reading experience that reflected each artist’s unique voice and perspective.
